Local Authorities Invited to The Hidden Treasure Hunt
Local authorities are invited to join the Hidden Treasure Hunt schools campaign, with a recent webinar now available to watch below.
The Hidden Treasure Hunt is a UK-wide schools campaign that engages primary pupils and their families in finding and recycling hidden electricals at home, helping local authorities boost e-waste collections, improve recycling behaviours and reach residents in a fun, impactful way.
A full set of communications assets and support materials is now available to help local authorities promote the campaign locally and engage schools across their area.
The toolkit includes:
- A campaign overview explaining how the initiative works and the role local authorities can play
- Media release template to support local promotion
- Newsletter and email copy ready to share with schools and networks
- Digital banner for use across local media channels
- Access to participation data to support monitoring, evaluation and reporting
Local authority officers can register for free access and begin using the resources immediately, with additional functionality, including a schools engagement leaderboard - coming soon.
The campaign is already helping schools uncover the value in old, unwanted and broken electricals, recovering valuable materials and reducing waste. Support from local authorities plays a key role in extending its reach and impact locally.
To access the toolkit and start promoting the campaign in your area, register via The Pod.
